After a weekend strategic workshop in June in the Northern Cape run by National Office Bearers, Philemon Shiburi and Cedric Gina with assistance from deputy general secretary, Bheki Magagula, the region is “now together and people understand issues better,” says the region’s chairperson, Desmond Mdluli.
The workshop, attended by all the region’s REC delegates, the gender coordinator and two gender representatives as well as all staff, was called to address divisions in the region.
Proof that the workshop was successful was that in the subsequent REC, “there was a lot of debate from all participants,” says Mdluli. “Now we are busy drawing up a strategic plan on recruitment, servicing.
