Spreading the union gospel

Money well spent! More supply please!

First and foremost I would like to send my revolutionary and new year greetings to all comrades in Numsa.

We have achieved success (with our publications) to a certain degree.

But when I ask workers to share a copy of Numsa News I’m told, ‘What on earth do you think I pay subscriptions for!” You try to argue issues of statistics with them to try and make them understand. Then you hit a brick wall. Please can you supply us with more where required. Everyone wants information and most of the time I run short of supply.

You explain the proportional aspect right down to the aspect of reviewing the small locals and the importance of recruitment campaigns.

In the wake of globalisation, outsourcing, insourcing, work re-organisation, were it not for this newsletter, I would not have the heart to write to you. Communication is the lifeline of the progressive movement and I hope Numsa ascribes to this philosophy.

In our endeavours to maximise membership, service is uppermost and therefore we presume that communication is second most important. Considering the impact of capitalism on the minds of the people, Numsa News is there to interpret the correct perspective, that is socialism.

As for the money, it is well spent. We must put members first, attaching a monetary value to this is unfair. Other editions are kept for reference in tackling employers in the absence of the copy of the Main Agreement, Skills Development Act and so on.

Communication with regard to this publication is out of this world. For the next coming 15 years of so, Numsa News is supposed to be around, it’s our watchdog. This institution must not be tampered with, no matter how philosophical one may be. More supply please! I rest my case.
