NUMSA President Andrew Chirwa will participate in the SAFTU march to oppose the labour law amendments

 The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) in the Northern Cape and Bloemfontein region will be participating in the SAFTU Workers Day events. The NUMSA President Andrew Chirwa and also the 2nd Deputy President, comrade Puleng Phaka will be in attendance and will address workers. The SAFTU National Treasurer Motshwari Lecogo will also be addressing workers.

Workers will be marching to the department of Labour in Bloemfontein to hand over a memorandum of demands to reject the anti-worker labour amendments.

We must defend the gains that we have secured over the last 30 years.

The details for the march are as follows:

Date: 1 May 2025

Time: 08:00AM

Assembly point: Batho Police station in Bloemfontein

Final destination: March to the Department of Employment and Labour to hand over the memorandum of demands
