Productivity payments (Improvement Factor)
Productivity payments (called Improvement Factor by Iscor) will be paid monthly. The new scheme will be fully implemented from January 1, 2005 .
The amount that an individual worker receives will be determined by three measures:
Iscor’s performance in terms of wealth creation,
the performance of the bargaining unit in terms of its quarterly production targets and
the individual’s personal performance (includes the worker’s adherence to safety rules, time-keeping and discipline)
(With the 5% wage increase and performance bonus, the increase reaches 8,3%)
Medical aid – employees who belong to one of the approved schemes will receive an extra 5% subsidy.
Insurance of tools – claims will be paid as long as:
the worker draws up a proper tool list
the supervisor has checked this list in the six months prior to the worker losing tools
the worker must pay an excess of 20% for any amounts above R2000 up to a maximum of R4000 for any one claim.
