Education: Practice makes perfect

While the Tembisa case handling course was in progress, local shop steward and participant, Abram Thosago, was called out of the workshop to go and defend fellow worker, Deon Petersen, who was charged with theft.

Thosago returned to the workshop, with good news. Petersen had been reinstated without loss of benefits. He had also successfully negotiated for Petersen to be graded as a general assistant with his wage increasing from R14,50 per hour to R16,50 per hour. Amandla!
