Motor Agreement gazetted at last:The agreement was finally gazetted on February 21. All motor employers must now give you the increase if they didn't last year. Find out what you should get from the last Numsa News.
Umbrella Fund in motor sector:There are lots of company pension/provident funds in the motor sector. This year Numsa will be trying to bring all these Funds together under one umbrella. All your benefits will remain the same but Numsa wants to merge the Funds so that:
your Fund will save money and so give you better benefits. your employer will also save money benefits across the different Funds will over time be made the same workers will have equal control with employers over the Fund.
If you belong to a company fund, make sure your shop steward gives the details to your organiser so that this process can be speeded up.
Eskom – Hold up on R25.6m gainsharing:Last year Numsa, Num and Solidarity won the case against Eskom over its refusal to pay a gainsharing amount to all workers of R25.6m. However, Eskom has now appealed. More in the next Numsa News.
Gratuity from Eskom Enterprises:Negotiations are continuing over the payment of a gratuity to all workers in Eskom Enterprises. The issue arose during the restructuring of Eskom when workers previously employed by Eskom were transferred to Eskom Enterprises. Eskom Enterprises workers were told that they no longer qualified for a gratuity. Eskom is also now trying to remove 'gratuity' from its conditions of service for all new workers employed by Eskom.
