Health and Safety
Developed HIV/Aids policy that will guide workers at plant level Established Health and Safety Committees in some companies Prohibited discrimination against people living with HIV/Aids In some companies negotiated access to anti-retrovirals and proper monitoring of HIV positive workers In engineering, companies will be bound by Nedlac's HIV/Aids code of Good Practice Improved confidentiality and testing for HIV/Aids in companies.
Training

Numsa investment company
Numsa Investment Company (NIC) will turn seven this year. The company was established to generate benefits for members. Until now, members have received no benefits from NIC. However, recently, the company facilitated business deals that will give the company much needed financial gains. These gains will be directly distributed to all members as benefits in the third part of 2003. These could be in the form of housing, education or health benefits.
Finances
Eliminated the deficit (where expenditure is more than income) – Numsa now gets more money in, that it spends. A new computerised membership system will track better who our members are and which employers have not paid across their subscriptions to us Trained worker treasurers and finance committee delegates nationally and in regions together with an internal audit process is cutting back on financial corruption in the Union.
