Recruitment: MEMS update

Six Numsa administrators – Thembi Hlophe, Melanie Roy, Lindiwe Zondo, Joyce Keagana, Lucy Gebashe and Thoko Rampai gave up their Christmas break to enter onto computer the names and details of 30 000 Numsa members who work in workplaces with less than 100 members. Shop stewards from these workplaces must now check that these details are correct especially members’ ID numbers, the spelling of their names and surnames. If some information is wrong, it could delay or prevent members getting future payouts from the funeral fund. Since the beginning of the year, Numsa has also been pressurising big companies to send all the information of Numsa members electronically (i.e. from the company computer to Numsa’s computer) to speed up the process. Numsa will then add any information that the company doesn’t have on the member from the MEMS forms that members have already filled in. If you are in a big company with more than 100 members, make sure that your company has sent this information to Numsa head office.
