NUMSA National Bargaining Conference: Invitation to the media

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa will be holding its National Bargaining Conference on 22-24 April 2016, at the Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre, Boksburg, under the theme: “End the Economy for the 1%, Secure our Jobs on a Living Wage!”

The media are invited to attend the open sessions of the Conference which starts at 11am on Friday 22 April. You are requested to register with me from 9am on Friday at Birchwood.

The sessions to which the media are invited are as follows:

Friday 22 April:
11h00-11h10: Welcome and Opening
11h10-13h00: President’s Address: Andrew Chirwa
14h00-15h00: 2016 Collective Bargaining Overview: Where We Are Coming From, Current Context and Where we Are Heading: General Secretary, Irvin Jim
Saturday 23 April
09h00-10h00: Guest speakers: Zwelinzima Vavi and representatives of Solidarity, UASA and MEWUSA.
