Nedlac grants Numsa application for a protest action

Nedlac consideration of the NUMSA section 77 (1) (B) notice in respect of the employment Tax Incentive Bill

At the meeting held on 14 February 2014, the committee confirmed that the matter (protest) be considered.

This certificate from Nedlac although granted to Numsa, means that all workers are covered – they cannot be fired for taking strike action. The principle of “no work, no pay” will apply.

However, workers should notify their employers that they will be taking part in the strike.
